Investigate: Animals Grow & Change

Before starting a unit on habitats we decided to start with the life cycles that plants and animals go through. The kiddos learned and discussed the ways animals and plants begin life (from an egg or a live birth), grow into adults, reproduce and then die. With this illustrated presentation, students are able to visualize how the offspring begin their own life cycle and that this pattern repeats as the life cycle begins all over again.

Students are able to compare human, dog, frog and butterfly life cycles while learning new vocabulary: chrysalis, larva, life cycle, metamorphosis, pupa, reproduction, and more. This little unit includes flashcards, mini posters, differentiated Cloze Reading Level and other worksheets. You can find Animals Grow and Change on my TpT Store. Animals Grow and Change, (along with companions: Animals Meet Their Needs and Introduction to Animal Habitats), is perfect to help move students along towards habitats and biomes. I’d be honored if you’d check out these resources and others on my TpT Store!
